Decision Point: I am now frustrated because a Thyroglobulin test each year shows that I still have thryroid cancer in my body but they can't find it. This past year, I had biopsies of lymph nodes and an iodine scan and it showed nothing. But with a total thyroidectomy, my Thyroglobulin test should be zero and it has been between 2.4 and 2.6. The tests this year cost $17,000 of which I had to pay about $1100. I'm really tired of all these tests. I really don't want to have them anymore and if it returns, so be it. It took 45 years for it to return from the first surgery and at age 69, I really don't plan to be around in another 40 years.
