Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): On 3/27/13, I had a right ureteral stent placement. The procedure was quite simple and short, under general anesthesia for 35 mins. The recovery was cool except the pain felt have a foreign object in the my ureter and it making my bladder run over time for some days (using the bathroom every 2 hours and hurt while going.) Hopefully, this procedure will help reduce the swelling in my ureter and the stent can be removed instead of replaced (cross fingers)

Christened - here in Ohio we have a guaranteed issue policy BUT it has a two year waiting period before payout. Try checking with the Department of Insurance for your state. Let me know if you need any other info.

Try Globe Life. I've been getting a lot of paperwork from them telling me there is no medical exam required. Also, call Colonial Penn Life Insurance. I know they say you have to be 55 years old or older but I talked to someone there who told me that you can start the process prior to that depending on your age.

Oh No (Cancer has spread/Metastasized): I continued the previous chemo and the areas that were completely resolved has come back, my left side lymph nodes and a cervical mass, in addition, the right side lymph nodes that has grown in size and metabolic activity. Also, my ureters are enlarged and I will need surgery to place a stent to open the passage before starting chemo again to not make my kidneys worse.

I am completely livid and feel it is hopeless on how a medication worked the first time and then become resistant. I am beginning to feel I am fighting a losing battle.

I understand how you feel. I've been there before. Please don't lose hope. I went through surgery, radiation and chemo to find out the cancer had metastasized. Since them they've put me on different chemo and it's working! We have to keep believing and having faith that we can beat this. I send tons of virtual hugs your way. We are cheering for you. We are here for you if you need to talk to a friend. Hugs.

Please don't give up or lose hope. Hope, belief and faith are all we have and need sometimes. They will try a new chemo and it may do the trick. I know how you feel. When my cancer spread to my lungs I just went wild! I was so mad I couldn't hardly breathe. After the news had time to absorb I put my head down and started fighting once again. Please let us know how you are doing. WE CARE!!!

Decision Point (To continue or not the chemo regimen I followed from Oct 2012 to Dec 2012): Based on Pet/CT scan, this regimen gave me mixed partial treatment response, my left lymph nodes and cervical tumor were completely resolved, but the right side lymph nodes did grow slightly. Med oncol and I agree to continue chemo regimen.
