After beating cancer for my second time, I was going back for a monthly checkup and thought everything was fine, was finishing up the checkup and the doctor says he needs to go get my bloodwork results and be right back........Comes rushing back in the room and proclaims WE HAVE A PROBLEM! I thought, here we go again for round 3. Then he says your cholesterol is way out of line! I asked him if he thought I gave a flying rats but about my stupid cholesterol after surviving cancer twice? He still said I needed to get it in line.
That fellow just about gave me a heart attack that day!

Eating a garlic concentrate (kyolic) daily will lower your cholesterol +-75 points.

Your whole lifestyle may need to change. Get familiar with the produce section of your market.

Buy a juicer and forego bottled or packaged anything to drink. For water, use filtered or purified and with a squeeze of lemon or lime.

If you simply must use a sweetener (so many fruit are so sweet and some veggies too (if prepared correctly) make it an organic and a whole food choice. Raw, uncooked and unfiltered honey, grade B maple syrup, cane sugar, stevia yadda yadda yadda.

Try soaking some raisins/dates/currants and using them and the soak water as your sweetener.

Find out what your doctor thinks is high (get a number) because the standards keep changing as put out by Big Pharma.

Cholesterol is a body reaction to inflammation. Try to address the root cause of the inflammation rather than the symptom.

I too had colon surgery (robotic DaVinci). Mine was caught in the early stages. I did not require chemo at this time. Mine is in my sigmoid colon. How are you feeling?

I made my surgeon laugh and the hospital too because my head was spinning with all the different terms so I referred to my surgery (kiddingly) as my Sigmund Freud surgery. Hope you are both feeling ok. How was the robotic surgery?

Thank you for the words of encouragement. It is good to know that I am not the only one who is depressed with cancer. I suffered depression way before I was diagnosed with cancer. I see my family doc this month I will speak with him about my heightened depression. I believe a lot of this is stemming from my Dad's passing on 6/6/12. It brought out a lot of my emotions and fears. On the upside I am glad I got myself tested the following month. My Dad's passing saved my life.

I wish you the best in your cancer journey. I will be keeping in touch with you.
