Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): I was on Rituxin combination therapy from May 2016 until December 2016. This was a very difficult time and thanks to the support of my family and friends as well as my loyal dog Tula, that was with me through this until she passed in February 2017 from cancer. This was devastating for me. However, I could not bare to see her suffer through it any longer so I had to make the very difficult decision to euthanize her.

I was in remission from December 2016 until September 2017 when it became recurrent, slow growing CLL. I am currently on Chlorambucil and the tiredness, which I should be used to by now, and the joint pain and nausea are somewhat under control. I must say that Cannabis helps with these side affects. It helps with the nausea and helps me to relax as well as helps with some of the joint pain.

I must admit that the news that I was out of remission so soon was very shocking to me. I knew it would not last forever but I did expect more time. I’ve had to deal with anxiety since my diagnosis and it has only gotten worse. I do my best to keep busy and take my anti anxiety medication but I think that it’s also time to get another service dog to help me through this.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): On Gleevec. Side affects are pretty harsh. Joint and muscle pains are affecting me the most. Nausea is more controlled with medications.
