Hello! We hope you're doing well. We have a partner that is looking for people that would be willing to share their experience with prostate cancer with others. They are looking for people that would like to help others by sharing their story speaking to groups of people about it. Others that have had this opportunity report that they thoroughly enjoy it.

If you think this is something you would like to do, just click this link>> https://www.research.net/r/BMWXTJL , and answer a few questions to see if you would qualify for this.

If you have any questions, you can email me at greg @ whatnext . com as always, thanks for being with us here at WhatNext!

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Taking a diazoxide to suppress insulin production until they find the tumor and do surgery.): Medicine affects my heart and causes several bad side effects. Can only take for five days and then must go off for 2 days. Have to test sugar 4-6 times a day when on medicine and 6-8 times a day when off. Also must buy my on glucometer and test strips because I am not diabetic, so insurance won't pay.

Procedure or Surgery (Had 2nd Endoscopic ultrasound with fine needle biopsy. ): Doctor performed the EUS and attempted a biopsy. Tumor began bleeding, so he stopped and ended procedure. Samples sent to lab and showed that tumor was endocrine, but was not enough to confirm an insulinoma or cancer. Ended up with pancreatitis and took a week to get over it.

Procedure or Surgery (Oncology surgeon ordered an Endoscopic Ultrasound with a fine needle biopsy to identify insulinoma and check for cancer.): Doctor doing the EUS decided in his wisdom that neither pancreatic lesion was an insulinoma or cancerous, so he didn't do biopsy.

Procedure or Surgery (Hospitalized for 72 hour fast to check insulin and sugar levels. Results indicates an endocrine tumor, an insulnoma, which secretes excess insulin causing chronic severe low blood sugar.): A 72 hour fast is a controlled fast in a monitored setting. Basically, you are forcing your body to respond to no food for as long as it takes to get your glucose levels below 50. It isn't the most pleasant experience but I got my diagnosis.
