There are lymphedema therapist. There are awesome machines that have sleeves that you wear on the affected body part that move the fluid for you. Ask dr about therapy referral then once there ask about lymphedema compression machines. I use a machine for my pelvic, sacrum leg lymphedema from uterine cancer. Lost 10 pounds in my abdomen within 3 weeks. Love it.

When I had trouble with swelling, I went to a lymphedema physical therapist. She worked on the areas that were swelling, and sent me to get a sleeve and gauntlet to wear. She also taught me how to do therapy at home and since then, I haven't had a problem. Also, swimming helps quite a bit.

Have finished last of 4 treatments. I have had all kinds of reactions: burnt hand from chemo leaking still sore after 3 months; broncal attack while getting treatment; high fever; lots of steriods and prednisone; hospital trips 4 times because masectomy didn't work and masectomy was building up "goop". Now they are testing my heart to see why I can't walk without getting in distress. I started in March with the masectomy and my treatments were to be 21 days apart. It is now July 31. I am waiting to see if I have a reaction from this last treatment
