After 3 1/2 years on anastrozole & 10 years on simvastatin, the pain in my muscles was awful. Had several blood tests & found my aldolace was high. Dr. took me off simvastatin and within 3 weeks all pain gone. Now my cholesterol is a little high but so is my good cholesterol. I watch what I eat & try to walk every day. I’m still on anastrozole, 5 years stable. It’s so hard when you have to make decisions regarding side effects of medication. Positive thoughts to all.

Actually, it’s probably the arnica in the oil that is doing the trick. Recent double-blind studies have shown that arnica gels (especially if you prep with a menthol roll-on to enchance penetration) can be as effective as expensive topical NSAIDS!

Arnica wont hurt you. Neither will magnesiun. Nor the lavender nor beeswax as NSAIDS can.

I like things that can only help. Dont you?

I called my oncologist and told her I have a DVT. I have been on the anastrozole for 4 1/2 years with manageable side effects: joint pain, two carpal tunnel surgeries. My oncologist said stay on the anastrozole. I really don’t know why I got the DVT. I will have clotting studies done by my primary dr. Also I can no longer take Advil for joint pain since I am on Xarelto. Tylenol doesn’t do much for me!

Grammyk, I got multiple small blood clots in my lungs a few years ago, and when I had an ultrasound of my legs, it was negative, so I don't know where my blood clots started---never had a chance to ask the doctor. I had to give myself shots in the belly for several months before I was changed to Xarelto.

When I read about clots, risk factors included inactivity, and it also noted that having tumors is a risk factor. (wiggle your feet!)

I also read that an unprovoked DVT can be a result of undiagnosed cancer. Scary stuff! I have not had any symptoms of recurrence of breast cancer. I sure hope that is not the case.
