I have already sent you a private message, but I thought it might be beneficial to share my husband's story with everyone. He was also diagnosed with gallbladder cancer 2 years ago October. At that time he was given only a few months, but he is still here and still fighting. This type of cancer is incurable, but his courage and strength constantly amazes me. He is on his 3rd type of chemo treatment. After the first 6 months we thought he might be in remisssion, but a few months later we found that it was metastisizing. His tumor marker went steadily up to a high of 680, but with the latest treatment it is down to 47. His doctors are really pleased and kind of amazed. On top of all that, we are fighting with the VA and have filed a claim for disability as he was exposed to Agent Orange in Viet Nam. Whatever happens, at least we know we did everything we could, and he is determined to not go down without a fight. Sure, he has a lot of down days (the treatment can be worse than the disease itself, but please tell your friend to not give up.
