Clinical Trial: Was on clinical trial for immunotherapy drug for lung cancer. Underwent 26 infusions over a period of one year. A slow progression had propelled the change to this treatment plan. During the trial I remained stable with some improvement throughout the year and was considered in partial remission. At the end of the 26th infusion I was randomized out of the trial and now am being monitored. I am still having all the same side effects I had during the trial. On January 8 I will see the nurse practitioner and they do blood work and check me out.

This was me one year ago today when I was rushed to the ER with an accelerated heart beat. During the exam it was found that the cancer had progressed. I have been in a clinical trial since October of 2014 and doing fine!!!!

It has been a great experience to participate in this clinical trial & and I would encourage other cancer patients to consider participating if there is one close to you and available.

Celebration (Remission): for the past 11 months I have been participating in a clinical trial for an immunotherapy drug for non small cell lung cancer. I have remained stable and in partial remission the whole time. My general health is great and the side effects are minimal compared to chemo -

Jefita...not meaning to contradict brianasgranny, you'd expect your doctor to give you the info, but we found you really have to advocate for yourself. Do the research, look up options you hear here, ask questions. My father's doctor didn't suggest clinical trials and bungled the one we found that he could have gotten into.

In my case I could find all the clinical trials in the world but couldn't get in until all fda approved drugs had been tried......that was in Feb 2015....before the new law was passed that we can try non fda approved drugs....All I have done since being diagnosed in 2012 is research....always want to have an ace in the hole

I participate in surveys that come to me from WhatNext and really enjoy them- I would encourage everyone to participate if you can.

Thanks for posting, some people qualify for several, while others, like me, haven't qualified to take any of them. If you haven't qualified for any yet, keep trying, they look for specific sets of circumstances and we sometimes don't meet them.

I always try and they always kick me out before being able to answer for the $ part or being of any help I guess. I don't know what I'm answering wrong but think uterine cancer doesn't get a lot of research.
