Sorry to hear you have had a recurrence. I hope this finds you at least feeling a bit better. I too have been recently diagnosed with anal cancer (and yes, it is not exactly comfortable to use the word "anal" when telling people). I just completed 8 weeks of radiation with 2 cycles of 5/day chemo with the lovely "purse" - 5FU and mytemicin(?). The mouth, tongue and throat sores were not enjoyable, but they healed rather quickly after each round of chemo. Had to receive several fluid infusions during that time due to inability to eat and difficulty swallowing even water. Never threw up though - yippeee. I presume you are going through radiation? My skin was great until near the end of my 8 week cycle. Found that Silvadene cream and Restore skin spray really helped! I won't sugar coat it, however, I waddled like I had been riding a horse for a month. Hang in there and always here!!

I am a 52 year old diagnosed with Stage IIIB in November. Treatment received was same as yours. Finished 2 weeks ago. I adore your wonderful attitude. Great idea to bedazzle your chemo pack! I had to smile at your reference to the "itch" during radiation therapy. I can certainly relate! I have a physical exam scheduled in March with follow-up scans in June. Congrats on finishing treatment!!

Hi Hope4all!! I just finished 2 weeks ago also. Mine was stage 2. As much as i loved bedazzling my chemo bag i was disappointed because i thought my work was wonderful and it fell apart before I could get back to the nurses to "show Off"!! One good thing about that darn itch is that 2 weeks later it is gone!! Now it is just the energy that I am fighting for! Will be glad when that returns!

Good afternoon!!! Not bad. the weather affects everything doesn't it. Here in Maine it is cloudy because we are suppose to get a snowstorm later in the day. The energy is fair...am headed back to work next week which helps the mind and a friend who is a physical therapist stated they are starting a new program for patients who have had chemo and radiation and he mentioned me being the first "test dummy"..this is one of those people that you would do anything for so I told him I would be his first test patient and the dummy!!! Better laughing than crying.!!!..And how is your energy day??
