Celebration (Cancer is shrinking): My Calcitonin levels had been steadily rising over the last 3 checks but suddenly took a dive to the lowest levels since diagnosis. I converted to a mainly vegetarian diet (Still eating fish occasionally) and am at least attributing some of the good news to that.

Celebration (Cancer is shrinking): It has taken a while, but I have had two massive drops in Calcitonin levels and am now in the 400's!!!!!
The Radiation treatment was tough, I was unable to eat or drink and lost 40lbs but I feel better than I have for years now. Lets hope it continues!

Hi Ginny,
I am interested as to what chemo you are having. I also have Medullary Thyroid cancer and have had a total neck dissection with my thyroid and 6 lymph nodes removed. I am having radiation treatment on two remaining nodes but my calcitonin levels are increasing so I think they could be doing more.
Good luck

Oh No (Cancer has spread/Metastasized): My calcitonin levels are up two tests in a row if it keeps going this way things are not looking so good. Two weeks of radiation therapy left out of six and I was hoping for some good news :-(
