Like Shelby said, it can be permanent. Typically it repairs itself but this takes quite a bit of time. Could take a couple of years. I have it for well over a year now. The numbness in my feet is better but I still have quite a bit of pain if I don't take gabapentin. Thinking about trying massage therapy but I want to find a therapist that specializes in Oncology.

I have recently started acupuncture at my cancer center at a very reasonable price...one of the reasons people use acupuncture is for peripheral neuropathy caused from chemo, diabetes, HIV, etc. I am using it for chronic low pain and, thank God, it seems to be helping!

8 months and still going though the tingling in hands and feet isn't nearly as bad as it was in the beginning... The numbness is the same. I tried the neurontin at 300 mg at bedtime which got me to sleep but had me dragging too much during the day. Tried 100 mg to no avail. Gave up at the same time I started the Livestrong program which used to tire me out by bedtime so fell asleep exhausted.
