I just wanted to let you know I came across your post. I just finished Proton radiation in Jan of this year. My experiance with Proton therapy was wonderful. I am about 60 miles outside of Chicago Il. I used a company called ProCure (www.procure.com) they have wonderful information. My treatment and whole experience was very fast. The tumor was found in my right frontal lobe at the end of Oct, I had my surgery NOvember 1st, followed by proton therapy in December and January. I am currently waiting to start Chemo therapy.
I did extremely well with proton therapy, the side effect were minimal and I was very fatigued. I was off of work due to the time line of everything and I was also placed on a large dose of steroids and was only sleeping about 3 hours a night. I also spent my day chasing my 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son (neither who sleep all night) which added to the fatigue.
Good luck in your choice - I personally would recommend the proton therapy due to the fact they can limit the exit beam which is able to save other areas that do not need radiation.
