What is most successf treatment regimen for IBC 2nd diagnosis within 2 years in opposite breast w/poss bone met -- chemo 1st or bone biopsy?

A biopsy is not a treatment, it is a diagnostic tool. I would think some further testing mostly likely PET/CT scan would be needed to confirm bone mets. In either case, treatment most likely to include chemo, mastectomy and radiation.

Since I had Breast, Bone, lymph nodes and liver when I was diagnosed my doctor chose to go straight to chemo. I did not have a mastectomy at all. She gave me heavy doses to begin with and knocked it back within the first 2 months. Not cured but feeling a little better. One on the spots on the bone does seem to be gone from looking at the bone scan and the pet scan. I am still on treatments.

I also have IBC and am coming up on 2 years since my diagnosis (11/19/10). I would start immediately with chemo. I hope they will also do a pet scan/CT scan. Follow the advice of a good oncologist. IBC is so aggressive! Good luck to you!
