I'm bummed out. Friday my doctor called to say there is "something" on my mammogram and there are "changes" from last year's mammogram. The next diagnostic exam is available I 2 weeks. I've been through this waiting game of tests, ultrasounds, biopsies before and right now that wait is unbearable. Don't tell me to hang in there, I've done it twice before. I also have primary immune deficiency(bubble boy disease), allergies including common foods and perfume, fibromyalgia, asthma, migraines, about to have surgery for incontinence and a Rectocoele, gerd and bipolar. Isn't enough enough?

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): I was glad my doctor was able to restore my speaking voice (although my students complained I spoke in a monotone), but was sad I can no longer sing- I loved to sing! The side effects from not having a thyroid to maintain my metabolism and being thrown immediately into hypothyroid are a problem- weight gain, fatigue, thinning hair, and having to rely on medicine every day, are problematic.

Hello, Janettem! Congratulations on your 10 Year Celebration!!! I was diagnosed in 2005 at the age of 51. Can most certainly relate to all of your symptoms as well including permanent vocal cord paralysis, a HUGE emotional roller coaster, weight gain, thinning hair, etc. Can't sing anymore either but I can talk. I have attended the Thyca-Dallas support group sessions from time to time and have made many friends. Thank you for sharing!
