I had mine removed a couple of weeks after chemo. I was like you, I couldn't wait to get it out.

My doctor said that I can have it out after a year, if no recurrence. However, I wasn't sure if it was a year post chemo or from when it was put in. I would like to have it out as well. My next appointment is in March - I'll be discussing it with my doctor then. It was put in last December 2011, and treatment was over in July 2012.

My doctor wanted me to wait almost a year since I was in remission, but I had it taken out 7 months after my last chemo.

Finished all my treatment for breast cancer December 7--I called it "d-day"=DONE!! Neuropathy in feet drives me crazy. I liked the post about feeling like clown feet, they do at times. Hopefully in time they will come awake again!! No pain, just tingling, asleep and heavy at times.
