Hello Jayne67 and welcome to WhatNext.com!!

I was diagnosed in 2013 with stage IV ovarian cancer and, after treatment and surgery, was cancer free for two-and-a-half years. I went through my initial diagnosis, chemo and surgery in California but I live in Washington state now. In July of last year, I had a recurrence and am now taking part in a clinical trial which is going pretty well.

This is a great place to connect with others who can help you, share experiences, answer questions, offer links to resources, and provide moral support. I think you'll like it.

Let me know if you have any questions for me; I'm happy to share whatever I know. All the best!

We have and are going thru this now, and I have learned some things that might be of use to you, the Family/Friend. Let me know when you are ready to hear it. I don't know where you are at in both the treatments and in your relationship. so i don't want to give you too much to handle yet.

Hi Jayne67,welcome to WhatNext. I am very sorry your family/friend has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. If medical treatment hasn't started yet, please make sure her doctor is a gyn/onc. Only these doctors have the specific education and training to treat ovarian cancer patients. If time and circumstances allow, having a second opinion is also a good idea. I was diagnosed in 2013 with stage IIIC ovarian cancer. I came to WhatNext for information, advice and support and was not disappointed. I encourage you to reach out to the community with any questions you may have. I am always available to help, just message me on my wall. Everyone can use an extra dose of support, the caregiver and the survivor. At WhatNect, we are all here for each other.
