My father succomed to Prostate Cancer three months before my diagnosis so I was keenly aware of the potential downside. Doing nothing was not an option for me, nor was radiation given I was only 46 when diagnosed and was not comfortable with a 10-15 year window before recurrence. Overall, robotic surgery was a great choice for me. Now, 4.5 years later, I don't even think about being a prostate cancer survivor and have virtually no side effects from the surgery.

Procedure or Surgery (Robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy): Robotic surgery was right for me given my young age. While recovery was a little longer than expected, I now have almost no impact to my daily life.

Oh No (Diagnosed): At age 46 with no symptoms but a bad family history, I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer via Biopsy.
