Jefita, first, tell your doctors exactly how you feel, even mentally. They can explain things like MarcM's doctor did that will reassure you, and when you're at home you can remind yourself what they said. Always stay in touch with doctors if something is wrong.

Next, remember before we got our cancer diagnoses, we were all destined to die, so it's really not about cancer. Anyone can die any day in a car accident or a million other ways, so we all need to prepare for death and then relax about it---not to trivialize, but similar to preparing for a serious snowstorm, tornado, or other scary event. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. If you are a Believer, get right with God.

Lastly, talk to a counselor who specializes in cancer patients. Your doctor's office or the American Cancer Society should be able to recommend one or some. Best wishes.

I noticed that you mentioned that your fear of dying occurred when you pasted the stats. It is strange but I have referred my post cancer life as a make-up exam from the Lord. I have lived this post cancer life in repentance and reformation. Everyday I think my chances for a better afterlife get better.
