Jimmi, our software censored your words, I have an idea what you are asking, but no, I have not experience with that. Someone else that has been treated for prostate cancer.

Yes, I noticed that. Yes, during or-gasm, nothing came out.
This seems odd at such an early stage.

Hi JimmiMyers. You are welcome. No worries. What is the point of suffering unless you can ease someone else's pains? HIFU is not radiation. It is heat. They do it from the back end. My friend,Joe, hotfooted it up to Canada to have it done some years back before it was legal in the States. He suffered just about zero side effects and he and his wife regularly have carnal relations. Lucky man.

Sorry about your girl. No worries. Hope springs abundantly. Even for me .. too.

Dump as much of the anger as possible to throw all your energy into beating the monster back and out.

      Best wishes

My husband found out he had prostate cancer last April he was supposed to be contained to the prostate so he had the surgery , when they did the main biopsy it had spread outside the prostate so he has had chemo. and hormones.
You will need to see if it is aggressive or not. Most everything you see says prostate is not aggressive but it certainly can be.He has had lost of trouble with an erection and he has been really upset about it but when you chose to save your life or sex. Im all for having here with me, I know Sex is more important usually to the male. But please make sure it is not aggressive before you decide it can wait.Prostate can be much more invasive than what you usually read or are told. Good luck.

I am so sorry you have to go through this ordeal. I just finish 39 sessions of radiation. My prostate cancer returned I have surgery in 2013. I am 72 years old and 3 out of 4 doctors advised me not to do surgery but the surgeon was very convincing. If you have surgery first you can use radiation as a back up. It is much harder to have radiation and they do surgery. I also have a chronic heart problem that contributed to some doctors advice to have radiation. I am not one bit sorry about the decision to have surgery. If they do get it the first time you will have to die of something else, which I intend to do!

Prostatectomy – If you have surgery I suggest robot surgery if possible. It was recommended that the surgeon have completed at least 500 or more. Mine completed over 2000. I did have side effects. Incontinence was one that was treated by a wonderful physical therapist that specialized in incontinence. Some women have this problem after giving birth and they have transferred some of that experience to help men.

Sex life – Ask your Dr. about “nerve sparing” surgery. My Dr. tried to save some nerves and it worked. Although I am 72 with the chronic heart problems I still have a sex life. Not the same but not bad either. You can go to Google “sex after prostate surgery.”

Find a good therapist - My diagnosis of prostate cancer scared the XXX out of me. I was sure I was going to die soon. My family has a history of cancer and it is not good. I went to Hartford Hospital in Connecticut and they have a wonderful Social Work Dept. that we have used. Initially we went to a private theorist and she was also great.

I am fortunate to have a wife and family that have been very supportive. I think it is even more important for you to get connected with a good therapist. I do not think you want to do this on your own. Cancer for me was a very emotional experience and support is so important. I would also recommend that you look into prostate cancer support groups in your area. Check out Us Too --http://www.ustoo.org/.

One caution about support groups. There are those who will make different suggestion. Some will be very forceful. They key here is to make your own decision based on all the information you can collect. We have found that there is on one “right answer” for treatment for prostate cancer. One of the best pieces of advise we got from a Dr. was to “pick you treatment and never look back.” Remember, regardless of the outcome the other options could have been worse.

Wishing you all the best and sending love. Take very good care of yourself! Tom

I agree with Tom on surgery. I had the Di-Vinci robot surgery (RALP) at a major Boston Hospital and a surgical team with over 2500 procedures. They do 3-4 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I was there from noon to noon, 1 day.
Learn to search nih . gov for facts as opposed to web MD or NY Times articles. A search for "RALP surgeon experience" will get studies showing errors drop significantly after 300-500 procedures and sex and incontinence number improve. Buy Dr Walsh's book on PC.
On post-op + 3days I was on just Tylenol and feeling fine. The catheter generally comes out on day 7, THAT is the big milestone. Day 8 I dropped in on the office for 1/2 day and after a 3 day weekend returned to a desk/lab job full time on day 11. By 3 months I was starting to forget to put a pad in my jockeys and the 1/2 inch scars became hard to find. As a TIIb you have a good shot at a cure, what was your Gleason score? I assume a 3/3 or even a 3/4 based on the IIb. This typically has a good outcome. A 4/3 is in the gray area and any combo of 4s and 5s is a problem. I met with 5 doctors at 4 hospitals before selecting my team. It worked for me. With a good surgeon sexual function will take 2-7 months* to completely return, it will take longer than that to get past this and get into a relationship where is matters. *5-7 months assumes a G3/3 or 3/4, and the TIIb N0 M0 holds at pathology post surgery and isn't up-graded, you are in good health and don't have issues such as diabetes, obesity, etc.
