Hi Ivy. How r u feeling today? I too have a mediport implanted in my right chest. I've had it since summer of 2011. I've received taxol. I've never had anyco
plications. As far as having "a bat caving on my chest, not at all! Nurses r very carefu and very professional. When they insert the IV, take a deep breath, you'll feel just a pinch. And thats it. After treatment, you will need to flush it out every month. Its no big deal. 5 minutes that's it. Good luck to you. Trust in God.

To all cancer fighters out there. Watching "Rocky" movies always inspires me and gives me the will not to give up. "It's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get back up". "Rocky Balboa". Every time we get up in the morning thats another round cancer has lost.

You asked about side effects of taxol Ive had chemo w/ taxol last summer. First two days was fine. On the 3rd day I felt some nausea. Your Dr will give you some compozene for the nausea. Which works pretty well. My hair fell out which was devastating. But it grew back quickly after the treatment was done. Hint: check out .biotin. I did experience some pain on left side and shortness of breath. Which might be related to the cancer or side effects of the chemo. I was able to continue to work. Live on my own. I got through it. You will too. Pray for God's blessing. God bless.
