I am trying to focus on each day, do what I want to do, tell my family that they are loved. Be a better person and try to concentrate on me more.

Having suddenly lost my son about 2 weeks ago, I can attest to the truth of this. One minute he was just fine and the next minute he was gone. No one ... and I mean no one ... expected him to pass away that day.

Are you on the fence over whether or not to get a flu shot? Think you don't need one? Here is a good article from NPR

@ChicagoSandy, thank you for saying what you said to Pauline (I didn't want to bother refuting anything said by someone who believes in the Illuminati). And thank you for the vote of confidence about the Fluzone vaccine. I'll take my chances with it, though I'll still see what my doctor says.

@Pauline, as ChicagoSandy said, you are insulting many here who are not Christian, and probably many here who ARE Christian and respect those who aren't. You may mean well, but your world view should grow to encompass ALL people, including the billions whose belief in other religions is as strong as yours - and those who don't believe at all (yes, there are many of us in the world who are atheists).

For the longest time, I would be flu-ish for a little while after I got a flu shot. Or, at least, I ran a low-grade fever, felt terrible ... But, it always passed in 2 or three days. The last time or two I got a flu shot, I did not feel bad. I don't know if it depends on what's in a particular vaccine that affects me or if my immune system was stronger... (With all of the immunotherapy I have had, it should be super strong.)

I'm a believer in that old saying "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all". What do you think? Do you get tired of your friends and relatives saying things that imply that you getting cancer was somehow your fault?

I have lung cancer. Nearly everyone thinks I am responsible for my cancer, from funders to doctors to the man on the street. And yeah, it is definitely frustrating!

I agree, there are plenty of critics. I like to say the same thing, "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all". I have enough to deal with on a daily basis just trying to stay on the "good side" of dead. I don't need everyone's crying, whining, something's wrong with everything attitude.

I agree. I have MBC in my right lung. I've finally come up with a come back. "What does cancer look like." Most everyone only sees me when I'm at my best, so it is hard to believe that I've had chemo for 2 1/2 yrs. I've lost my hair twice, now. I look like the lady in the commercial describing MBC. I am relentless, too
