Hi John,I just had robotic laproscopic prostate surgery on Aug 15th. My gleason score was 6 as well. I had 1 of 12 biopcy points come back as cancer. When they checked the prostae in the lab, it was 15% cancer, contained. The surgey was a piece of cake. I was out of the hospital on the 3rd day. After a week I fet like I could do anything. The bag stayed for 8 days and all the surgical spots are complety healed now. The leakage issue is something I'm still working on. The other issue is the man thing. I still doesn't do a thing. The doctor said it may be Jan.Feb to see if it comes back. He said that moving the nerves was a clean job and he got 99% of them. So I guess I have to wait and see. I requested a full body scan and got that. I was not satisfied with the explanation in the report, so I have requested a 2nd scan. I have an appointment on Dec 5th for that. All in all,I guess thing are good. I still have personal issues with the cancer, I will hae to work them out some how

Just finished 1 of 2 treatments of HDR (High Dose Radiation) at Moffitt in Tampa. Gleason 6 --not spread out of prostate.
They put DURASEAL between rectum and prostate to protect it. It's been 7 days and have side effects of urges to go #2 and can't. Also little blood in urine (expected) but supposed to be best treatment for non aggressive prostate cancer, not spread outside. 2nd treatment is Mar. 9 and that's it. Lower risk of ED and incontinence and no bowel problems. Anyone famiar with this? They've been doing it for 2 years...inserting "straws" into the prostate, radiating it for 15 minutes and taking them out.
