Dude, good luck. I was 52 & stage II. Best advice I got from my DR was at my age, best chance at a healthy, long life was removal. Second best was Robotic Laproscopic Surgery, if you can get it. I am functional and do not have the dreaded side effects of ED or incontinance.

Procedure or Surgery (Robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy): 4 months after surgery: Minimal incontinence, increased urge to go and must be timely. Drier than before procedure. ED, at best I only can get 40% erect, but with Cialis, full erection and functionality, so promising.

Hi All, I had robotic prostratectomy on 12 Oct. I am very pleased so far with the outcome. It has been 5 weeks, I am mostly dry and sexual functionality is returning. I am 53 with young family and I feel blessed. Could have returned to work about week 4 but chose to stay home longer to fully recover, both mentally and physically. If anyone has questions, I am willing to respond. Thank you for your support.

JohnK, great to hear that. Cancer sucks and it definitely has it's challenges, but to know you are cancer free is a big deal.
