Other Care (Physical therapy for range of motion after surgery): This was the best thing I've done so far. I don't know why the surgical team didn't strongly urge me to do it. It was my own idea.
I also joined a gym, and am part of a yoga class.

We really all need to be our advocates and get support. Medical people tend to do it by their procedures and don't really think beyond that. You are inspiring

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): My first session was yesterday, but I'm hoping for minimal side effects. I changed oncologists last week, going to the doctor who had been so wonderful for my husband, and who understands the whole story. (My husband died two months after his diagnosis, so I am feeling very sad.) The first oncologist didn't seem very sympathetic, and couldn't explain my pathology reports to me in a way I could understand.

Procedure or Surgery (Double Mastectomy): My surgeon was a cold woman. The fact that my husband wasn't able to provide the support he'd always given me (due to his own disease, procedures, bad news, etc.) was emotionally difficult. I felt compelled to keep a very stiff upper lip, while trying to help him as much as possible.
