    jptucker shared an experience

Procedure or Surgery (Double Mastectomy): Bilateral mastectomy on 9/19/13 after 6 rounds of TCH chemo. Blood transfusion due to chemo affecting RBC. Drains were in for 5 LONG weeks, ended up with a staph infection and back in the hospital for 6 days and 2 weeks of at home IV antibiotics. Radiation was supposed to start a month ago but has been delayed (perhaps permanently) until infection is clear. Continuing Herceptin every 3 weeks and Tamoxifen daily. Hair is starting to come back, very gray but soft. Looking forward to 2014!

Hi! We are the same age with the same diagnosis (triple positive, diagnosed in April). I started with Chemo first (Taxotere, Cablopatin, Herceptin) and have my 5th of 6th treatments next week (so glad to be on the home stretch with chemo)! My bilat is scheduled for September, then 5 weeks of rads, a year of Herceptin and 5 years of Tamoxifen. I just wanted to say "hi" and that I get it :) How was your first chemo treatment? It is a full time job managing all the side effects isn't it? Best of luck to you. Jan

Hey there, it's been a while since you posted this, but I am just getting around to my chemo #3 crash and have some time to catch up on this site. I think I am getting into a rhythm with my crash, although it will probably change when I move from A/C to Taxol, for chemo #5. We will see.

Thanks for the info on Claritin, btw. I have been taking Allegra (too wired on Claritin) and so far no bone pain. Maybe it's helping, maybe not - but I'm not about to stop and find out!

How are things going for you?
