Celebration (Remission): July 13th 2010 was one of the happiest days in my life. This was the day they took the rest of my cancer out of my neck and I finally felt free. I seems a little silly but it was the best feeling in the world to me.

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): I went in for my second surgery thinking that they would get all of the cancer and life would get back to normal. I was in shock when they said that they didn't get it all. I had 3 more surgeries and they fianally got it. Afte the 4 th sugery the surgeon told me to just leave it be for now and we would see if there were any changes before doing another surgery. I didn't find this acceptable and when I told him I wanted a second opinion he got upset.
After 5 sugeries I lost some of the strength in my Right shoulder and had to have therapy to help build it back up. I also have nerve pain that I now take medication to help with. There are still sometimes if you touch just right it feels like a shock going through me. I have times of swelling in my neck because of there being no lymph nodes there this usually happens when I am fighting off a cold or something.

Side Effects (Fatigue (tiredness)): After my first round of radiation treatment that I drank I went back to work a week later. My favorite thing to drink was pink lemonade at the the time. I took my first drink and my face swelled up as well as the right side of my neck (where my cancer was located). I got very scared and called my onocologists. Then told me that this can be a side effect because after drinking radiation you can get stones in your saliva glands and this will make you swell when you drink sour things.
