Decision Point (I've been told the cancer isn't gone, but slow growing. More chemo now or what?): I was diagnosed almost 3 years ago. I did 3 months of chemo. I was then considered in remission for almost 1 year, although my #'s had been going back up throughout the year. I then did 9 months of chemo and a clinical trial. After that time, I became alergic to the chemo and though my numbers hadn't gone as low as they should've been, they told me that I could quit chemo. I have now been off chemo for 10 months and my numbers are creeping back up. At my last appt, the doctor told me that he believes that I have slow growing cancer in the lymphnods and that it was my choice whether I would like to go back on chemo now or wait until it shows in the CAT scan. Since I can't stand the idea of more chemo - I said "no chemo" for now. In bewteen my 1st & 2nd diagnosis, I lost my job which carried my health insurance. Thanks to the American Cancer Society, I learned that Blue Cross has a "no questions" asked policy if you have exhausted Cobra. I have two young kids, 11 and 7. Ugh. I need to live for them!
