Thank you for sharing this. I have heard of this combination, and looked into it last year. That's interesting that they are using it now.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): She is now on Gemzar/Abraxane. On 3 weeks off 1

My mom was diagnosed on June of 2013 with Pancreatic Cancer. She was doing chemo every 2 weeks which I can't recall the name right now but it was an aggressive chemo which she did one week of 46 hrs at home chemo and rest the following week. She did this for few months. She got really sick and very tired. Then the doctor changed her chemo to Gemzar/Abraxene but her body couldn't take it. I guess the previous chemo did not give her a chance to try this one. Her main problem is in the body of her pancreas and the head. Her stomach is developing fluids from her stomach arteries coming from the pancreas and she has to drain every other day. She drains about a litter every 2 days. She used to drain more every 2 weeks but now we try for her to be pain-free. She cannot do anymore chemo for now. This is what worries me now since she has been so sick. I'm wishing for a miracle at this point. She is fighting and trying to survive.

Has anyone been diagnosed with stage IV with mets to the liver?

Yes, but mine was neuroendocrine tumor, a much slower growing type of pancreatic cancer. I continue to have it return to the liver. I've had 3 liver resections, and a Whipple surgery.
