Oh No (Diagnosed): My husband was experiencing a headache in late September, 2009. We attributed it to a home improvement project he was working on (removing ceramic tile from our floors) and inhaling the dust from that. At first our primary care doctor agreed, and prescribed steroids to help with what we thought was a sinus infection. The next day, the symptoms were much worse, and I was taking him to the hospital in the late hours of the night. I CT scan showed a giant tumor in his head--the size of my fist. We were in trouble.
The first doctor we saw told us my husband had just a year to live. This month we will celebrate three years together since then. We've had a lot of downs with our ups since then. Thanks to new, more positive and aggressive doctors we have attacked everything as it has come along.
