We completed the sentinel lymph node biopsy on Friday the 10th and are now waiting on the results. They said that it did not go that deep into her leg and feel the out come will be good. My daughter has been keeping in really good spirits about the situation. The day after the surgery the boy that she had started to talk to before the diagnosis text her and wanted to come and see her, being a young girl her first thought was to make sure her face and hair looked ok, she looked into her compact mirror and then looked at me and said "on a scale of 1 to cancer how do I look." I am so proud of her for keeping such a positive attitude and great sense of humor! She is a roll model for me!

Brilliant. I must steal that line. On a scale of one to cancer... I'm still laughing.

My daughter was so strong and amazing when I told her about her diagnosis. We are going in today to have the mole and surrounding area removed and then the waiting game starts to see what stage she is in.

Hi,
I had stage 4 cancer as a teenager. It is important to be calm, honest and loving with her. Remember that no one has an expiration date stamped on us so stay positive. There are some really great support systems available for your whole family. Please, take care of the whole family Tracy -
