Procedure or Surgery (Breast Reconstruction (Flap)): The TRAM flap surgery was done at the same time as the double mastectomy. In total the surgery was 13 hours. It is a tough surgery to recover from. You have to be ready to follow all directions feel discomfort for an extended period of time and be out of work for 6-8 weeks. I am going to be going back in a couple weeks and I still have difficulties sitting in a chair for a long period of time.
