I am 32 years out from two very harsh chemo regimens for two diagnoses of Hodgkin's. I live with pain every day, although now, after so many years I really can't point to the first or second chemo or if it's the side effects of the radiation I had 11 years ago, all I know is I hurt most every day. And then my working life doesn't help it either. I am always doing something around the house that I probably shouldn't.

I don't suffer from pain per se but the side effects from the surgery do make my life difficult and exhausting. I suffer from long term fatigue and find the older I get, the more those symptoms occur. I hope you have something medication wise that gives you some relief.

My CIPN started one week after I finished chemo. It is not as bad as it once was, but still have neuropathy in feet that limit how long I can be on feet.

As in neuropathy? Or is it nerve pain from surgical resection?

I had radiation first with chemo then surgery and then chemotherapy. The Peripheral neuropathy was horrible during chemo and 7 years out and still bad effects, bonus I developed a thyroid condition. Low b as well.. Just wondering if this had lasted in years for anyone else.

I've been fortunate and don't have any lingering side effects from Stage IV rectal cancer treatment. My neuropathy went away during the first year after treatment ended. I developed a parastomal hernia that has been repaired. Now, I've developed another small one - we'll see what my surgeon wants to do with this one. It's difficult to "live" a normal life without lifting things, bending and squatting. I'm sorry that you're having problems.

I had a doctor's appt. last week and was asking about this. How long will it last. They say they don't know because the keep having people like me that are years, and years out, 32, that keep saying they have lingering pain.
