About to begin new regime for relapsed/refractory MM. Has anyone taken panobinostat and carfilzomib?

Husband had induction 7 cycles with RVD. 7th cycle did not touch him so he had an stem cell transplant in 8/16. M-spike still .8 so they are doing Kyprolis with Revlimid and Dex. His oncologist at Moffitt was considering him for a Panobinostat as an individual agent. We were concerned with the cardiac side effects with panobinostat. She said as a solo agent they were not as prevalent. He was not able to do it because of his residual and continuing M-spike. I am not a doctor and this is a very individualistic cancer as far as treatment. Just sharing what we were told. Of course as a nurse of 32 years I encourage you to discuss this with your oncologist. My husband was stage 3 upon diagnosis with a m-spike of 5.9 back in Feb. when he was diagnosed.

Thank you for your answer. Good points raised to discuss with my doctor.

I am not real familiar with either of these drugs but I do have something to say. I have had 2 friends with relapsed myeloma. One was tried on Daratumumab and the other on Elotuzumab. Both seemed to be improving but then developed plasmacytomas over various places on and in their body. One did not survive. The other did not complete the last round due to the plasmacytomas and is currently on radiation treatments. Just wondering if anyone else has seen similar finding with these drugs.
