I had surgery for removal of the kidney and ureter. My cancer started in the ureter and grew into the kidney. It's still considered bladder cancer if it starts in the ureter. Ask lots of questions. The Urologist I was seeing was not my surgeon. The Urologist told my wife and I that if her husband was having this surgery, this was the guy she would trust. The surgeon was very young. The surgery was robotic and assisted. I had no complications. It sounds like your surgery - bladder removal - is much more complicated. If you're not comfortable at all, get a second opinion. Hope this helps.

You can find others in your area with the same diagnoses by using those as filters for a search under the people tab.

Yes. I've had ongoing treatment at Karmanos at HVSH in Commerce. I've also had consultations at U of M. We have also gone outside the area for treatment. But, we are fortunate to have many excellent cancer treatment centers in this area. Anything in particular that you would like answered?
