This is my second year collecting donations for Stockings for Chemo Patients. My friends and I have collected so many items to fill 450 stockings to be given out at 5 different infusion centers. Each stocking has a warm soft hat, fuzzy socks, lip balm, lotion, hand sanitizer, sani-wipes, lemon heads (for dry mouth) peppermints, protein bars, a note pad and pen, a word puzzle book, stress ball, adult coloring book, and a card with a message of hope. We are doing some for teen patients that have some extra items for teens and at one hospital where patients are very low income we have included blankets to go with the stockings. We had a wine tasting, a Bunco and just asked people to donate in our community. I am so grateful for the generous gifts. I am on watch an wait and it feels good to do something for the ones who are going thru chemo. Hospitals in Sacramento, Oroville, Chico, and Paradise CA will be getting the stockings. We were acknowledged by country singer Martina Mcbride and call our group Team Martina. This past summer she met us before a concert and took a picture with her!!
Not sure what to do

Can you check with your insurance, I have known some people who have had their insurance pick up part of the transportation.
That being said I have lived in the Rural part of North California. And I know transportation to Sacramento is almost non-existent, How often will you have to go for Chemo?

I lost my husband 8 days ago...He gave me his word that he would never leave me. I am the one with cancer and on chemo. I can't seem to understand how he is gone before me. Grieving and crying.
