Oh No (1 Year Post Check Up): This was my, close too, one year check up. My PAP results came back abnormal positive HPV. Some aches I've had in my treated area have progressed to pain instead of ache. I am scheduled for a PET in 2 months so the treatment plan is to do the PET and follow up post PET for a colposcopy.

Oh No (PET Scan 6 Months Post Treatment): PET Scan results stated that area of cancer is resolved; however I have a new uptake area along the endometrium. Doctor is going on it being a false positive which is not comforting at all.

Other Care (Follow Up Post 2nd Pet Scan): I am 6 months post-treatment. I had a PET 3 months POST that still showed an area of uptake so we repeated the PET 6 months post. Now the radiologist is saying there is a NEW area of uptake endometrial. While minimal, the doctor could not give me a good explanation of why. The radiation I had through me into menopause since June 2018. Radiation has been done since July 2018. The doctor does not seem concerned but we are repeating the PET in 3 months. Mentally I know the uptake number was short by 1.2 of what my doctor would be concerned about but emotionally it feels like a setback.

Oh No (Cancer has spread/Metastasized): PET results showed my initial area looks good. However, there is now uptake on the same side but the endometrial area. My GYN Oncologist is on vacation so I will have to wait until he is back next week before we discuss the next steps. The nurse practitioner prepared me for either an ultrasound or a biopsy. Additionally, the nurse practitioner said the radiologist did not provide an FDG uptake number that would indicate if this could be radiation caused even though it is a new area. So I am in a sit and wait time again.

I finished my treatment at the end of September 2018. The week after that Thanksgiving I had a PET scan. The PET scan still showed uptake that they "suspect" is inflammation but "could be" cancer yet (I did have external and internal radiation and chemo). A repeated PET is scheduled for March 4, 2019. My healthcare system allows you to log into an account to see upcoming appointments and prep for each appointment, etc. My PET has a diagnosis of "restaging". Now I am starting to panic.
