I had a HUGE reaction to Taxol. I had to have the steroids prior to treatment, benedryl during treatment AND they had to slow the drip. It was bad enough where it started to close my throat. Then about 5 days after my 3rd treatment, I landed in the ER because I couldn't breathe at all. They did an injection in each of my legs PLUS an IV drip to reduce the swelling in my throat. The doc had to stop using the Taxol and gave me something different for my 4th treatment. PLEASE keep a close eye on it. This stuff is dangerous!

I had a reaction to taxol, had anaphylactic shock. The oncologist would not give it too me the third time and changed my chemo altogether. It was a very scary experience.

Yo might try 1% hydrocortisone cream. And if the itching spreads, call you doctor. I had to take a steroid pack for several days.

Hi I've been recently diagnosed and was wondering if u would share ur experience with chemo with me. Did u receive a port? I'm a little afraid. I guess too late for that now.

I do not have the same type of cancer, but I do have a port. I highly recommend it! I was frightenend going into the procedure for the port. Should not have been because I am a nurse, but so different on this side of the bedrail. It was not difficult. Made life easier later. Good luck.
