Celebration (Finished treatment): After 15 months of Chemo. 37 treatments of radiation, and 7 surgeries I was finally done. My hair started to grow back and I changed my whole perspective on life, knowing now how precious each day is. I thank God for every day He gives me.

Procedure or Surgery (Breast Reconstruction (Flap)): This 8 hour surgery went well, but, I was in intensive care for the first 24 hours, with instructions to move as little as necessary. I had so many things hooked to me, I couldn't move if I wanted to. After 2 days of being bedridden I got out of bed to walk, I thought I was going to split in two. I needed the help of a walker for a few days and went home after a week.

Procedure or Surgery (Double Mastectomy): I was rushed back into surgery the second night in the Hospital due to a hematoma where my right breast used to be. After blood and plasma transfusions, I was finally on the road to recovery, or so I thought. I had radiation after my double mastectomy, which caused tightening of the tissue. This lead to 4 more sugeries, including removing my implants and having deep flap surgery to replace my implants with my own tissue from my abdomen. To think the insurance companies want to make Mastectomy's an out patient procedure makes me mad. They need to walk in the shoes of a patient before making such a outlandish decision.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): I started Chemo within 2 weeks of being diagnosed. It was very strong and made me very sick. I also suffer from Neuropathy in my fingers and toes from one of the Chemos. Some days it was all I could do to make it from the couch to the bathroom and back. But my attitude stayed strong with all the love and support from family and friends.
