It was great you had a friend with you to absorb it all. Yes it is so much in the beginning. Continue to have someone with you to be your 2nd ear. I had my husband at most appointments and whenever I felt I needed a female aspect I had a sister with me. It helped a lot. Glad you are feeling stronger!

I don't know how everyone's post surgical appointment went, but I can tell you I felt ambushed by every doctor that came into my room. I went with my BFF and saw the shock on her face also. I literally shook from head to toe. I thought it was unrealistic to have so many things thrown at someone who is living on the edge right now. It was too much to take in at once. It took me several days to recover and absorb the little information I heard. Finally am feeling a bit stronger and looking into all the paperwork these doctors handed out.

Sorry you had such an overwhelming experience. As Marianne said, it's a good thing you had someone with you. I have a hard time remembering all that is told to me also. They tell me something, then when they are telling me the 5th thing on their list, I am still thinking about the first thing. Don't ever feel afraid to tell them to stop, slow down, and start over. Took me awhile to do this, but now I make them slow down and answer my questions before they move on.
Best to you, hope you get a handle on the info.
