    KStep1day@atym asked a questionThymus Cancer

Are their Thymoma survivors that have been re-diagnosed with cancer in the lungs, after a few years of remission?

Celebration (Anniversary): Even though I am battling cancer at this time I applaud myself and my daughters for our strength, and our support for each other during the past five years. I smile as I celebrate my 5th year as a survivor. I have been blessed to be a participant in The Relay for Life walks for the last five years with my daughters and their friends. I am actively involved in both the Rockwall and Mesquite Relays for Life. This opportunity builds my courage and my self esteem, as I move forward each and every day. Taking baby steps and yet jumping and leaping for milestones and miracles. Never letting the opportunity pass to meet new friends and build new and lasting memories for my daughters, others, and myself.

Loss (Lost loved one): My mind constantly goes back to my last difficult battle with cancer in 2008. After being diagnosed in August of 2007, my father was hospitalized in September of 2007. He died by the end of that month. January of 2008 my husband took ill from a heart aneurism that spread to his abdomen with infections. I visited M.D. Anderson in Houston, and The Cancer Centers of America in Zion, Illinois. After finding a plan of action for me to move ahead with chemo, surgery, and then radiation, my husband remained hospitalized for six months. During this time of receiving chemotherapy , I lost all of my hair. Two and a half months later, my husband passed away on June 6, 2008, this was the last day of school, before summer break for my two daughters, who were eleven and nine years old at the time. These painful memories resurface as I begin to face another journey.

Other Care (I was sent to several doctor's for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinions. ): The surgeon said that they would probable have to take my whole right lung, because the tumors could keep relocating or spreading. The radiologist said that he doesn't believe that radiation would be helpful He believes that it would burn my lung or my rib cage. My oncologist believes that one of the drugs that I previously used could be toxic to my system. He also mentioned that their is a strong chance that the tumors could regrow back after shrinking them down to size. Where do I go from here? I need a true MIRACLE from God!
