I am sorry to see that your father will not be able to continue with chemo, kowlek. It's a shame there are so few options to try to treat this type of cancer. We will be thinking of you, and best wishes to you and your dad. I hope you'll keep us updated on how Hospice goes, how your dad is doing, and how you're doing.

Well the doctor told my father today that chemo is out of the question because it will kill him. She suggested he go on hospice. I just want to thank everyone for their support.

My dad was diagnosed late July, had his 1st chemo a couple of weeks ago & wound up back in the hospital. He finally came home this past monday. He can't walk, barely eats/drinks & sleeps alot. I don't know what to do. I help him get from the bed to the commode but that's the extent of his activity. He's supposed to go back to his cancer doctor on the 6th to talk about resuming chemo but I'm not even sure if it's worth it. I'm not sure if he's close to death at this point. I don't know who to talk to. I just don't know & feel so helpless!

Don't give up on chemo yet! The first few treatments are rough. My mom was the same way, but after a few, after her body adjusted, she went back to work and maintained a fairly normal life, with the exception of tiring easily and some nausea. Good luck to you!
