I also had shortness of breath after I began chemo. It happened for the first 5 cycles or so. It did go away, and I've had multiple echocardiograms which do not show any changes since I started chemo.

Loved your answer to the hair question. I have stage 111 ovarian cancer and have been on chemo for 8 months so far. My hair fell out 3 weeks after I started treatment. That is when my nurse said it would. It has started growing back and is pure white. I am a natural blond but at my age I don't expect blond. 2 other ladies in my chemo room have said that their hair had started to grow back also.

Has anyone had shortness of breath as a side effect of chemo?

I had shortness of breath after my fifth treatment, right after I started Taxol. I couldn't even talk without getting out of breath. My oxygen levels went down to 89. I was given steroids for 10 days. They did a CT scan which showed inflammation of the lungs. They ended up stopping my treatments.

Other Care: Cardiac catheterization and insertion of a stent due to a blockage in one of my coronary arteries.. My cardiologist thought that this would alleviate my shortness of breath but it didn't help. Pulmonary doctor could find no problem to cause my shortness of breath. I cannot walk more than a couple of steps before getting short of breath. This started about a month after I began chemo.
