Prayers to you! Mine was one year ago yesterday. Try to sit up when allowed and walk as often as you are able. You will have good days and bad, but the good will start outweighing the bad. I'm back full time at work, have gained weight and am living my life with a better realization to live for today. So can say life is even better after this experience.

      Elaine,

Just realized that this was 5 months ago. How are you doing?

Thank you for all your positive feedback to me about the Whipple. It sounds promising. I hear other horror stories so ones like yours give me hope. Thanks again. Elaine (lanie)

Elaine -- I am so glad you are a Whipple candidate! I know it's scary but it's definitely your best shot. I am rooting for you to come through it with flying colors.

I hear both good and bad stories about the Whipple. At someone's suggestion on this site, I found Whipple Warriors and a support group on Face Book. It helps to know others are doing well. One week from today I will be in the operating room at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. My doctor is David Iannitti. Anyone heard of him? He is chief of HepatoPancreaticoBiliary surgery. I'm putting my life in his hands.
