Welcome! I love the photo. I'm sorry that you are going through this, but you are not alone. I also live in Dublin. I was diagnosed almost 4 years ago with stage Ic triple positive. I had a bilateral mastectomy, 8 rounds of chemo and 1 year of Herceptin. I know how scary this is. Please feel free to reach out to me if you need anything.

I used Ohio Health. My surgeon was Dr Lilly and my oncologist is Dr Sweeney. How about you? I am a pharmacist. If you have any medical questions, I'd be happy to help you with them.

I had Dr. Lilly's partner, Dr. Jones. My oncologist is Dr. Abuzakhm, at the same place as Dr. Sweeney. Dr. Heck is my plastic surgeon.

I have silicone and am very happy with mine as well. I would suggest you make an appt with the plastic surgeon and express your feelings. He/she should make it right and I believe insurance will still pay. If you don't get satisfaction, then seek another opinion. As far as pain, I have had some discomfort when bending over, reaching for things just in the last few months (4 yrs after surgery). I've talked with my plastic surgeon, primary and another breast cancer patient and all said the same thing - one of the nerve endings has grown a nodule - if I could pinpoint it, they could perform an ablation. Mine is more of a discomfort than severe pain so I'm not going to do anything. The other gal who had the same experience said it became less of an issue over time.

Warrior, I did not have to have radiation, so there's no damage to the tissue from that. I did have MRSA (a staph infection) in the left breast about 2 months before the implants were placed. The surgeon wanted to give the implants a couple of months to settle into place before we make a decision on what needs done. I see him again next week. I'm just feeling sad that I don't look the way I had hoped. I need to decide what I can live with and what needs corrected. I have had 3 surgeries within 8 months and each time causes more scar tissue to form.

I am in pain too, I had attempted the implants but my cut would never heal ( 6 months of infection ). I had the PS take the implant & Alloderm out. I am wondering if the scar tissue ever softens & if the pain goes away.

I'm curious about other people's experiences with silicone implants. I had them placed in November and I'm not happy with the appearance or the results. One side is disfigured (possibly due to scar tissue?) and they are not the same size. I am also in pain everyday.
