    Leahb shared an experience

Procedure or Surgery (Double Mastectomy): On 2/15 I had a bilateral mastectomy with diep flap reconstruction at the same time. It has been two weeks since my surgery and I am starting to feel better. There is a lot of pain in the breasts and the donor site but it gets better each day. My drains were removed 10 days after the surgery which has improved my recovery. They were very annoying but obviously necessary. I have been fortunate to have a great support system of family and friends. Especially, my husband and mother.

It will be a year in September that I had dcis, chose a double mastectomy and diep flap reconstruction too. I am so glad that surgery went well. How is life treating you and have you adjusted to your new body after surgery?

It means exactly what it says. Any type of diagnostic report identifies what the findings were. In you case it found that your right auxiliary nodes were not enlarged.

I say thank God for MRI's. I was diagnosed with DCIS in June and was going to have a simple lumpectomy, but when the surgeon saw that the radiologist missed a spot he sent me for an MRI. Not only did the MRI show that the spot was bigger than the mammogram showed, but it also found to clusters in the left breast that did not show up on the mammogram. Consequently, I had a double mastectomy rather than a triple MRI guided biopsy. It was also cancer. As far as your nodes, I would be hounding my doctor for an answer to that question and wouldn't quit until I got one I was satisfied with. Good luck and I hope it is nothing to worry about.
