Radiation (External radiation ): Finished 33rd radiation treatment, last 5 were a boost radiation at the sight where the tumor was removed. The time went by fast. Fatigue and some tenderness, especially where the scar tissue is. But overall it went very well. The staff there was amazing and very supportive. Crazy to say, but I will miss their smiling faces and their encouragement was a blessing.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Hormone therapy): Started anastrozole (arimidex) on 8/22/17. Wondering if there will be any side effects, I guess time will tell.

I was on Arimidex for 5 years...some side effects...some managed more easily than others...I like to think the side effects were proof it was working!

Snoopy dances of joy! Glad you can put that part of treatment behind you. And it is scary to close out a chapter 'cause you are in a routine and there are people fussing over you and suddenly that is all gone. I get it!

Radiation (External radiation ): started radiation on July 6 (6 1/2 weeks - 33 treatments). Just competed one week, so far so good. A little fatigue, but able to keep working full time yet.

Oh No (Fluid build up): My drain tube was removed on Tuesday, noticed Thursday afternoon a painful fluid buildup lump (i think that's what it is) icing it and taking ibuprofen and waiting for my Post-op appt on Tuesday.

I had fluid build up after my Lat Flap, and had to have it drained several times after my drains were out. It's not bad and the doctor does it in the office.

Procedure or Surgery (Lumpectomy): Wire localization and blue dye inserted before surgery. Dr ended up removing 2 tumors, one was 1 cm and the surprise one was .2 cm. One sentinel lymph node removed. Pathology report came back negative, yeah! Ended up with a drain tube for 6 days.
