Procedure or Surgery (Implant chemotherapy port): Having the IV port was how I knew that it was cancer. I went in for surgery to do a biopsy and I knew that if I woke up with a UV port, the diagnosis was clear. My surgeon also told me that it was Hodgkin's right as I was waking up from the anesthesia. I barely remember it, but I do remember that I cried quite a bit in the recovery room and was comoforted by the wonderful nurse who told me about her 16 year old neice and how well she's doing after treatment.
