Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Just wanted to post my sister's experience with mediport flushing: Her doctor finally witnessed first-hand following blood work what she had been trying to tell them for months. The flushing procedure was making her ill. Bacteria had grown inside the mediport and was being disbursed into her system with each flushing. Antibiotics were administered to her and the mediport during a hospital stay and are being continued at home by a home health nurse for two more weeks. My main concern is with the medical staff's inability to LISTEN. Has this not been documented in previous cases with other patients?
