I was diagnosed with aggressive metastatic prostate cancer at age 54 in 2015. It had already traveled to several locations throughout my hips, femurs, and pelvis and confirmed by a bone biopsy of my T11 which showed prostate cancer in just one of many lesions on my spine. Because of the multiplicity of Mets, they consider me treatable but not curable. Hopefully, your husband’s cancer has not advanced to this point. However, if it has there are still many well-working medicines to keep him going for many more years! I had treatment with Xofigo (Radium 223 dichloride) and things went extremely well for me on that drug. If Skip has had chemo previously it may be much tougher on his body to produce the sufficient amount of white blood cells to continue all six recommended monthly doses. This medicine seemed to really minimize the lesions in my bones. Be aware that PSA will likely rise during this treatment, but usually can be brought back down again after treatment ceases.
